PowerParasol® Receives a Second Patent There is no other solar shade structure built like PowerParasol,® which can shade acres of land, transform public spaces, drive customer service and satisfaction and generate megawatts of clean energy connected to the grid and close to where it is used. Our unique features include a large contiguous solar panel platform that is elevated above the ground, and unique vertical supports that give PowerParasol strength and support while creating elegant structures that integrate into the surroundings. Now, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted a second patent on PowerParasol, providing even greater protection of our innovative design and technology. We’ve installed PowerParasol at three locations at ASU’s Tempe campus (Lot 59 near Sun Devil Stadium, outside the Memorial Union and along Gammage Parkway), at a Fry’s Food Store on 27th Avenue and Bell Road in Phoenix, at a KOA RV park in Tucson, and at Empire Southwest’s headquarters in Mesa. In each of these locations, PowerParasol is providing much needed shade, allowing plants, grass and trees to thrive under the structures, preserving sight lines and creating open, airy spaces. PowerParasol takes solar off the rooftop, out of solar farms and into the community, has enhanced the land it’s built on, and has generated clean energy with no increase in the environmental footprint. Any excess generation can be integrated into the local utility grid, bringing another source of solar power to the community.
